The Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden will be available until 31 August.

Discover a magical place and enjoy a walk among exotic butterflies flying freely in a space of tropical plants. These beautiful and colourful insects come from tropical areas of the world. Butterflies play a very important role on our planet, as they are one of the pollinators of many flowers. This order of insects has more than 24,000 different species.

Did you know that…

• Butterflies are mainly diurnal and moths are mainly nocturnal.
• The life span of adult butterflies is quite short, with some species living as little as one day.
• Females are larger than males and live longer.
• Butterflies weigh very little, about the same as two rose petals.
• Butterflies can see red, yellow and green colours; They smell with their antennae; and, although they cannot hear, they can feel vibrations.
• After bees, butterflies are the largest and most important group of pollinating insects.
